to think that some people's value of another's life is the same as a video game. I mean, this isn't the bully beating some one up for their lunch money here. It's adults breaking another man's jaw and nose just to steal his game!?! Very sad indeed.

but I thought Bill Gardner was very evasive about the content of the game; almost embarrassed to admit that the game contains violent and sexual content. His response to the most controversial part in the game being the ability to "beat up some one and take their car" (paraphrasing there) was very evasive and, one could say, down right dishonest. He would have been better off comparing it to violent movies like Heat, and sexual movies like Striptease. It would have sounded better to...

They look like art mock ups to me.

Time heals all wounds, I guess. As gamers are growing up and becoming your average Jane and Joe, we are acquiring a voice in politics, media, and acceptance as a legitimate form of entertainment.

Example - for the first time on my local news broadcast, they ran a report on a video game (the release of GTA IV) with out bias or the usual "this game is aimed at turning your child into a sick and twisted, gun toting, prostitute humping psychopath" rhetoric. They actually...

You do realize this is a video game we're talking about, right? You're telling me Resident Evil's premise makes sense? And the movements in any super hero game ever aren't ridiculous? In video game realms, a character gaining super human abilities through the contraction of a virus doesn't seem all that far fetched to me.

I call it a cash in because Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis (among others) were busy doing other projects and they could not (and did not want to) put in the time to do another Ghostbusters movie. However in the meantime, the franchise caught fire with children and cartoons and such started coming out, and that's when they decided to do a sequel, but with more child suitable content; hence the step from rated R to PG. The people who actually made the movie what it was did not want to make a sequ...

Hope they can get the humor of the original movie right. Sounds like they have just about everything else in order, but until I hear Venkman spout off one of those great one-liners, I remain sceptical about the translation of this classic to video game form.

And, yeah, Skerj, co-op would be awesome and really should have been implemented.

"Back off, man, I'm a scientist."

I've been looking forward to seeing this game in motion since I first heard about it. Looks to be shaping up well. May end up being another must buy game.

I'll admit I have a lot of reservations about this game. The game play, atmosphere, and if the humor will do the film justice (I say film, singular, because, let's face it, the original was the only REAL Ghostbusters movie, the other one was just a quick cash-in). I'll keep my eye on this one, but I'll wait for some more substantial information before I express any sort of opinion.

White republicans are voting for McCain.

I'm not going to bother with you any more. Your arguments are based on generalizations and the use of those statistics proves nothing by me. Women favor Clinton. White males favor McCain. Blacks favor Obama. So, about the only thing you are pointing out is that we are a nation of racists.

Two more things before I report your comments as offensive. I am an average 32 year old white guy. I run three businesses, am married, a...

Keep shoveling!
Question - "it's a proven fact..." - proven by who? Hillary Clinton is popular among women voters, does that mean all women are sexist?

Explain how your comments are racist? I think the broad generalization on the opinion and thoughts of an entire race of people speaks for itself.

No...no, I think you rate right up near the top of the list.

He deserves this honor and many more. I'm not a Green Bay fan, but Farve is amazing. A "average" guy who made it big doing whatever he had to win the game (without cheating!). When he joined the NFL, he didn't even know what they meant by a nickel or dime defence! That's great!

I hope you are referring to the black zombie issue and not the article.
You may want to clarify because some people might look at your comment the wrong way (I see you have a disagree already).

Probably the best, most intelligently written article I have read on this sight. Couldn't agree more.

I think, to the average person, race is a non-issue. I don't see race in a game, movie, or any media in any form. I take people on an individual basis. I've met great people and absolute jerks among every race and religion. Race is only an issue to those who want it to be an issue. Equality comes in many forms. You get the good and the bad. You can't just take the good and call...

and I don't think we will see it in the mainstream any time soon. First of all the latest technology (Blu-ray and 1080p plasma and/or LCD TVs) are still quite expensive. The majority of people don't own current generation tech (I know a lot of us tech-heads here leap at the stuff with tongues waving and throw money at anything more advanced than what we currently have, but the vast majority of the population does not). Also, I don't think most companies producing this type of tech WANT to mov...

I'm looking forward to this game. Everyone has complained about how it looks and "The Collective Sucks", but to me, Silent Hill is about story and atmosphere. I will wait to judge it when it comes out. I have not seen anything to bash it about. People always jump on incomplete games saying that it doesn't look next gen enough, but a lot of that polish comes in the later stages of development. Story is the most important part of a game such as Silent Hill. FFVII, Deus EX(PS2), and Ha...

I really like the part about the controllers. I went from the Atari 2600 to the Sega Genesis. I remember bragging to friends, "Look, man, it has 3, THAT'S 3 BUTTONS!". You think they will ever add more?

Bubbles for that one!

I always open a game immediately after buying it and play at least a little while before I set it down.

But, I keep buying new games, setting down my current game half way through, then can't remember what I was doing in the first game, so I have to start all over. The problem is, I end up buying another game in the meantime, forget what I was doing in the second game and around and around I go. I never end up completing a game because I have to always start over and don't have...

I'm 32 and ten years ago I would spend every waking hour gaming. Plowing through games in a matter 2 or 3 days. Now, I'm married, have 3 (self employed) jobs, and am lucky if I can squeeze in a game of NHL 08 with 5 minute periods before supper! I can generally play only one day of the weekend for a couple hours and that's it.

Funny thing though. My head still tells me I have time to play all the great releases and I continue to buy them. I own ten games and have not beaten any...
